There is one petition has been going on Change.org to remove Ven. Wira Thu from Facebook. He has been known as Buddhist Bin Laden. Time magazine published his image on their cover with the title of The Face of Buddhist Terror. The petition can be reached at https://www.change.org/p/mark-zuckerberg-close-down-facebook-account-of-buddhist-bin-laden-ven-wira-thu.

In the petition they claimed that he has fanned the flames of religious chauvinism in Myanmar. Because of his propaganda, some innocent people have been killed in Burma. With the strong supports of anti-democratic groups including Burmese, he is going against democratic activists, including Suu Kyi in Burma.

His purpose is to create religious and racial riots between majority Buddhist and Minority Muslim. He is using Facebook for his virus ideas between Burmese people. Facebook has policy to block any kinds of racism and religious bigots. This petition will send directly to Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg.

WE PETITION THE DAVID CAMERON ADMINISTRATION TO:

Support justice for the Rohingya at the ICC

Mr. Prime Minister, Rohingya community members have filed a communication with the International Criminal Court petitioning the Prosecutor to conduct a preliminary examination into genocide and crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Myanmar government.

Mr Prime Minister, genocide is an evil crime that should not be tolerated on any level under any circumstance. Our history has too many examples of failing to act swiftly. The U.K. has an opportunity to stop the killing, mutilation, and rape of the Rohingya group.

Mr. Prime Minister, Myanmar's democracy tolerates impunity and gross human rights violations. Please stand support the communication and stand up for them now.

TAKE ACTION – DEMAND ASEAN COUNTRIES TO FIND SHORT TERM AND LONG TERM SOLUTIONS TO THE ROHINGYA CRISIS

The conditions for the Rohingya stranded at sea off the coasts of Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia are worsening by the hour. The majority of the world’s media have also been covering this potential human catastrophe and yet there seems to be no political solution in sight, not for the stranded 6,000 nor the Rohingya community, perpetually abused in Myanmar.

We are asking all supporters to take action and demand the regional nations, known as the ASEAN communities to find solutions to these problems. Thailand has called an emergency meeting for ASEAN countries on May 29th 2015. That gives us 10 days to try to get as many signatures as possible to demand to ASEAN nations to bring up this issue and to resolutely build for the future and call on Myanmar to review its xenophobic stance on the Rohingya.

On the May 28th this petition will be sent to all ASEAN embassies in the UK as well as the Prime Ministers office’s in each of the ASEAN countries. We have little time to make maximum impact.

Please sign and share as widely as possible.

TAKE ACTION SIGN THE PETITION

Dear Prime Minister/Foreign Minister

As you are aware, there are more than 6,000 Rohingya refugees who are stranded in the Andaman Sea as they escape from a constant and rising threat of marginalization and human rights abuses in Burma (Myanmar) and from human traffickers from Southern Thailand. Having endured atrocious conditions in the IDP camps in Rakhine state, many Rohingya have also been trafficked and kept in illegal ‘slave camps’ in Southern Thailand with recent evidence of mass graves as well. Now more than 6,000 are stranded in the Malacca Strait and being prevented from shoring in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. The UN have said that unless a solution is found imminently, a huge human catastrophe awaits the stranded thousands.

There are countless numbers of Rohingya who have lost their lives at sea, many drinking their own urine as they run short of food and water and we are now aware that some have even beaten each other to death whilst scrambling for the last remains of food supplies.

With Thailand having called an emergency ASEAN meeting to discuss solutions for this on May 29th 2015, we, ‘the undersigned’ urge that the stranded Rohingya are given sanctuary and urgent medical attention from within the ASEAN community.

As with any international collaboration of nations, the rights of those who are being persecuted need to be addressed with haste if the ASEAN is to have any lasting impact in the region. In our thousands and in a global chorus of voices we ask all ASEAN nations to put forward responsibly a roadmap of reconciliation of the Rohingya to their homeland, Burma (Myanmar). We urge each ASEAN nation to remind Burma (Myanmar) of their responsibility to protect their population and to grant equal rights to all regardless of ethnicity or religion and to ask Burma (Myanmar) to immediately repeal their unjust 1982 Citizenship Law. For the future of all ASEAN nations it is absolutely essential that all partner nations act with due care to their populations.

We hope you will listen to our collective voice.

Yours sincerely

The Rohingya Muslim ethnic minority in Burma have been called “the most oppressed people on Earth”. They continue to suffer vicious attacks and systematic abuse by Burma’s government. Fleeing violence, over 140,000 Rohingya live in what many describe as “concentration camps.”

Denied use of their name in the recent census, Burma’s government now wants to fully erase their existence, asking the United States, the United Nations and the rest of the world not to even use the word Rohingya.

In just a few short weeks, President Obama is going to Burma for a meeting with regional leaders. It is critical for the existence of the Rohingya for him to say their name and demand their protection during his visit.

Sign the petition below and urge President Obama to say “Rohingya” and then show him how easy it is to #JustSayTheirName.

Dear President Obama,

I stand with the Rohingya – an ethnic minority that is under siege Burma. Conditions for the Rohingya have progressively gotten worse during your term in office. Today, 140,000 Rohingya have been isolated living in what have been described as concentration camps.

The government of Burma would like the world to ignore the Rohingya. President Thein Sein has even declared “There are no Rohingya” in Burma. Now, Burma’s government has pressured the U.S., the UN and the rest of the world not even to mention the name Rohingya.

I call on you to say their name – Rohingya – and demand the government of Burma to stop the persecution and oppression of the Rohingya during your upcoming visit to Burma. Please make it clear that you are prepared to use the tools available to you, including sanctions, to protect the lives and the rights of the Rohingya.

Sincerely,

we petition the obama administration to:

Mr. President, Don't Backtrack, Step Up and Recognize the Rohingya

In your 2012 trip to Myanmar, you made an extraordinary powerful statement about a highly persecuted ethnic group in Burma, demonstrating your humanity and the American resolve for human rights. You stated, “Rohingyas… hold within themselves the same dignity as you do, and I do.”

For your upcoming Burma trip in November 2014 please build on your previous approach by continuing to use the name “Rohingyas” publicly. Please do not follow the example of Secretary of State Kerry who did not utter the word “Rohingya” in his August 2014 trip, exactly what the Burmese government wants.

President Obama, please ask the Burmese president to restore citizenship to Rohingya living in their ancestral land; to close all concentration camps; and eliminate the 12 laws discriminating against Rohingya.

The reports that the EU will now lift ALL but arms sanctions against Myanmar, coupled with the honouring of President Thein Sein for the In Pursuit of Peace Award by the International Crisis Group is shocking to hear! Once more, human rights of the most marginalised people of Myanmar, like the Rohingya and Karen, have been sidelined. Such governments cannot be appeased in return for international economic and political gains.

#PetitionForPeace

For The Urgent Attention of ICG Chairman Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering:

The ICG's decision to honour Thein Sein at the In Pursuit of Peace Award Dinner (22nd April, 2013) is utterly disrespecting the human rights of Myanmar's citizens, and as such is totally contradictory to your award's aim of "preventing and ending deadly conflict".

Thein Sein and his Government's inaction and involvement in recent and continued human rights massacres and abuses in Myanmar include:
  • June and October 2012, more than 150,000 Rohingya displaced after violence which was NOT stopped by military and Government personnel
  • Arbitrary arrests and imprisonment of Rohingya men and boys
  • The continued use of sexual abuse of young women as a tool of terror against the Rohingya
  • Confirmed mass graves found
  • Apartheid style IDP camps established by Government for Rohingya
  • Preventing aid missions such as OIC to open office in Myanmar blockading foreign aid for large parts of 2012
  • In recent weeks the violence against Muslim citizens in Meikhtila and Yangon has led to almost 12,000 fleeing their homes. ‘969' terrorist group waging violence against Muslim citizens throughout Myanmar have gone unpunished despite heinous crimes against humanity including killing of children in schools
The UN's special rapporteur of Myanmar, T Quintana reported on February 16 2013 about the violence in Arakan state ‘a profound crisis that threatens to spread to other parts of the country and has the potential to undermine the entire reform process in Myanmar..'. On numerous occasions it has been reported across many international outlets such as BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera that Government forces had stood aside and allowed the violence against the Rohingya to spread. Despite such grave human rights abuses and concerns, earlier this week the European Union has stated that they are "to lift all sanctions with the exception of the embargo on arms which will remain in place".

Such appalling disregard for human rights and his Government's lack of pushing forward reform and the draconian 1982 Citizenship Law renders almost 1 million Rohingya stateless. Without providing adequate protection to the Rohingya and Myanmar's citizens, the ICG's decision to honour Thein Sein with its most prestigious award is premature, shocking and absurd.

We the undersigned urge you to reconsider this decision and award it to genuine contenders working towards peace and a conflict free world, with rights of all people recognised.

Dr Tun Aung and Family were arrested because they are among very few educated Rohingya who have access to modern technology to inform the world about ethnic cleanisng and genocide in Arakan Burma. Read his case profile here

He is 65 years old and a patient of Pituitary Tumor and received Nauru surgery twice, one in 1997 and again in 2004 because of the recurrence of tumor. The condition remains serious and still under vital medication and suffering from serious side effect of the medicines. He has very limited eye vision due to the tumors on both sides of the eyes. He recently received varicose vein surgery on his both legs.

Sittwe Provincial Court sentenced religious leader Dr. Tun Aung (aka) Nu Hauk to a total of 12 years imprisonment on Wednesday for his role in the communal strife which erupted in Maungdaw, Arakan (Rakhine) State, on June 8.

Dr. Tun Aung faced six charges, including instigating a riot and fraud, stemming from a request he made to the local authorities on June 8 to hold a gathering to pray for 10 Muslims killed by an Arakanese mob in Taunggok Township on June 3. Despite giving assurances that the gathering would not result in violence, a riot broke out and Htun Aung was later arrested on June 11.

He was sentenced to seven years under the Section 5(j) of the Emergency Provision Act, two years each under the Sections 153(a) and 505(c) of the Criminal Code as well as an additional year under Section 6(1) of Wireless and Telegraph Act of 1933.

The Rohingya, a persecuted Muslim community in western Burma, are under attack. Hundreds of thousands have fled to neighboring Bangladesh, but the government is blocking aid -- if we act together now, we can pressure Bangladesh to reverse course and offer Ramadan relief to those in need.

Rohingya refugees who have made it into Bangladesh are at risk after the Bangladeshi government ordered important relief charities shut down, saying the refugees aren’t their responsibility. But people powered compassion, coupled with commitments of financial aid from the important Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), could push Bangladesh to reverse the ban and rescue the Rohingya.

Next week all 56 OIC members states, including Bangladesh, are meeting in Saudi Arabia for an emergency summit to address the crisis. OIC Chief Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu will urge Bangladesh to show mercy and compassion towards Rohingya refugees, but if his call is supported by hundreds of thousands, it will be impossible to ignore. Sign the urgent petition now and share with everyone you know - we’ll deliver it directly to the OIC meetings next week when we reach 100,000 signers.

Over the past 4 weeks, the Rohingya, a community numbering nearly 1 million in Burma's Arakan state have been under siege by local Rakhine community also living in Arakan.

The UN have described the Rohingya as 'the most persecuted community in the world' and have referenced the Rohingya as the Palestine of Asia. It is reported that the Rohingya have been living in Myanmar from as far back as the 8th Century, yet in 1962, the Burmese military junta began a programme of ethnic cleansing. Starting by denying birth certificates and citizenship to the Rohingya, right now, the community are in a perilous situation where they are being targeted because they are not of the same race and religion of the Buddhist majority Rakhine. Looking darker and closer to the South Asian race as opposed to the more oriental looking majority, and being Muslims as opposed to Buddhist, the Rohingya are being targeted by state sponsored ethnic cleansing.

It doesn't matter if you're Rohingya, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian, Black, White, Muslim, Hindu or whatever. If you are human, and believe in humanity and want to stop persecution of innocent, vulnerable and helpless Rohingyas, you would sign this petition.

Thank you

For the sake of humanity, please everyone take a moment to sign this petition!
