Myanmar Muslims Genocide Awareness Convention Held At Los Angeles Convention Center

On June 21, 2014 on Saturday, Myanmar Muslims Genocide Awareness convention was successfully held at the World Famous Los Angeles Convention Center. Mr. Htay Lwin Oo of Myanmar Civil Rights Movement, Dr. Sai Htwe Maung of Shan Mission, Rev. Denny Fisher , Naama Haviv of Jewish World Watch joined as special speakers and Dr. Gregory H. Stanton, the president of Genocide Watch, The Honorable Tom Andrews (The President of United to End Genocide), Mr. Matthew Smith (The Executive Director of Fortify Rights) had joined as the panel Speakers. 

The event started a little over 2:00 PM Pacific Standard Time of the United States of America. The convention started with the prayer recitation by Zaid Simjee along with host Actor Devin Hennessy. 

At the first session of the convention, a thirty minutes video of incidence in Burma name “what do we say? “. The video was reared by many audiences. Mr. Htay Lwin Oo’s brilliant speech in Burmese was motivating and Dr. Sai Htwe Maung disclosure of suffering of Shan and Kachin Ethinc Minorities were also very much noticed by the scholars with his shocking eyewitness videos footage . Rev. Danny talked about Buddhism related to violence. Ms. Naama Haviv precious speech was more educational towards how to be the Champion activist. 

In the second session of Convention was very mush heated with the very strong voice form Dr. Wakar Uddin addressing form Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. After that, Dr. Gregory Stanton get on to the podium denouncing the violence in Burma and holding accountable for the Burmese Regime with the his factual stages of genocide committed by the Burmese Government “This is GENOCIDE. This is GENOCIDE. Let No doubt be express about it . This is GENOCIDE." regarding about Daw Aung San Suu Kyi "I state this very boldly and very simply, Aung San Suu Kyi should surrender her noble peace price. She has completely failed to live up with to obligation it imposes on." And providing steps to take the government to Burma to the International Criminal Court of Justice and said "We will win". 

Just after Dr. Stanton, The Honorable Tom Andrews, address about the violation of human rights and condition if refugees in the camps . His eye witness story of a child with Tuberculosis, how the child was not getting access to his medical treatment. He stated the action plan to take bold steps to escalated level that firm result to bring justice to those who are accountable and bring peaceful solution to Burma. 

Mr. Matthew Smith disclosed the evidence and witness report of the mass atrocities and genocide upon Rohingyas . His organization obtains several Myanmar governments’ official documents for systematic persecution of the Rohingyas. 

The Q& A session was taken just before the convention was call off. Many questions were about accountability and justice. The convention ended with the resolution of 11 steps. The documents are available at www.ba-ma.org.
