RB’s Challenge Statement against recent denial report on mass killing in Duchiradan by NHRC Myanmar
We are not surprised by the statement of National Human Rights Commission of Myanmar released on February 14, 2014. We've known since the beginning that the NHRC is an agent of quasi-civilian government and they will only write what the government wanted.
We are challenging with this statement that the NHRC was told everything that happened in Duchiradan by the women who were at the meeting. Our RB correspondent was among the attendees at the meeting. The NHRC has full audio and video recordings of everything reported by the Rohingya women from Duchiradan. One of the team members of NHRC noted the death list of 52 in the meeting.
We at RB are ready to bring our correspondent to Nay Pyi Taw or Yangon if the NHRC and Myanmar government wishes to debate face to face. In this case we need the assistant of international community for the safety of our correspondent’s life.
We would like to urge the UN and all western countries and the OIC to pressure the Myanmar government to allow an international investigation team to access the area.
In the statement of NHRC, they stated that they hadn't received the death list of 52 people. It was false claim and what others written in the statement were also false. The truth of the incident can be revealed by the international investigation team only. The NHRC and recently formed an investigation team by the Myanmar government will never reveal any truth.
