ျမန္မာအစိုးရက ႏိုင္ငံေရး တက္ႂကြလႈပ္ရွားသူေတြ၊ တိုင္းရင္းသားေခါင္းေဆာင္ေတြ၊ ဘာသာေရး ဆိုင္ရာ ပုဂၢိဳလ္ေတြနဲ႔ သတင္းေထာက္ေတြ အပါအဝင္ အက်ဥ္းသား အေတာ္မ်ားမ်ား ျပန္လႊတ္ေပးလိုက္တဲ့အေပၚ ႀကိဳဆိုေၾကာင္း ကေနဒါ ႏိုင္ငံျခားေရးဝန္ႀကီး John Baird က ေၾကညာခ်က္ ထုတ္ျပန္ပါတယ္။
ဒါဟာ အေရးပါတဲ့ ေျခလွမ္းတရပ္ျဖစ္ၿပီး ဒီလမ္းေၾကာင္းအတိုင္း ဆက္လက္ေဆာင္ရြက္ဖို႔နဲ႔ ျမန္မာျပည္သူ အားလံုးအတြက္ ဒီမုိကေရစီေရး ၊ လြတ္လပ္မႈ၊ လူ႔အခြင့္အေရး၊ တရားဥပေဒ စိုးမုိးေရး စတာေတြ ျဖစ္ထြန္းလာေအာင္ လုပ္ေဆာင္ဖို႔လည္း တိုက္တြန္းထားပါတယ္။
လတ္တေလာ ျမန္မာအာဏာပိုင္ေတြရဲ႕ ဒီမိုကေရစီ ျဖစ္ေပၚတုိးတက္ေရး ေျခလွမ္းေတြနဲ႔ ပတ္သက္လို႔ မိမိတို႔ အားတက္မိေၾကာင္း၊ ဒါေတြဟာ ျမန္မာျပည္သူေတြအတြက္ ပိုမိုေကာင္းမြန္တဲ့ အနာဂတ္ကို ဦးတည္မယ့္ ပဏာမ ေျခလွမ္းေတြျဖစ္လိမ့္မယ္လို႔ ေမွ်ာ္လင့္ေၾကာင္းလည္း ေရးသားထားပါတယ္။

Statement by Minister Baird on Burmese Political Prisoner Release
January 13, 2012 - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today issued the following statement on the release of Burmese political prisoners:
“Canada welcomes reports that a large number of prisoners, including political activists, religious and ethnic leaders, and reporters, have been released by the Government of Burma.
“This is a significant step forward. We urge Burmese officials to continue on this path and take further steps to ensure freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law for all in Burma.
“We also welcome reports that a ceasefire agreement was reached earlier this week with the Karen National Union and the announcement of parliamentary by-elections on April 1.
“Canada continues to call on the Burmese authorities to engage in an inclusive dialogue with opposition and ethnic groups.
“We are encouraged by the steps taken recently by the Burmese authorities on democratic development and are hopeful that these are first steps towards a better future for the Burmese people.”
