Crimes in Northern Burma ,Kachin State POTENTIAL WAR CRIMES EXPOSED (Report)
The geographical scope of this report focuses on frontlinecommunities in southern Kachin State in Burma. While thesituation of conflict-affected communities living in other areasof Burma is not addressed in this report, the areas that arecovered provide a sample of some of the trends and impactsassociated with conflict in Burma, and they are representativeof the broader war in Kachin State. The area most thoroughlydocumented in this report is Nam Lim Pa village, MansiTownship, Shwigu District, Kachin State, Burma, where recentconflict broke out on 8 October 2011.
The scope of this report focuses on the testimoniesand photographs of eyewitnesses and exact locations wherepotential war crimes occurred. Other grave human rightsviolations are also discussed in detail. A key recommendationof this report is for the international community to supporta UN-mandated Commission of Inquiry to independentlyevaluate allegations of crimes against humanity and war crimes.
