Myanmar keen to resolve Rohingya problem thru negotiation: New Envoy
Dhaka, Apr 21 (UNB) - Myanmar is keen to resolve all problems including that of the Rohingyas through negotiations by the two democratic governments.
This was conveyed by newly appointed Myanmar Ambassador to Bangladesh U Min Lwin when he presented his credentials to President Zillur Rahman at Bangabhaban on Thursday.
The new Ambassador said the democratic government established in Myanmar recently has decided to resolve all problems with the neighboring countries through discussion and negotiation.
He mentioned that the newly elected Myanmar President has decided to visit the Asian countries and start the state visit first from Bangladesh which is considered the closest neighbor of Myanmar.

Ambassador Lwin expressed happiness as he has been assigned to Bangladesh for discharging the diplomatic duties. “Myanmar will support Bangladesh in the international and regional forums including the United Nations, SAARC and BIMSTEC,” he said.
The Ambassador appreciated the government of Bangladesh as it has been playing very positive role recently in the international relations.
Welcoming the new Myanmar Ambassador at Bangabhaban, President Zillur Rahman said the government has taken the initiatives to establish rail and road connectivity with Myanmar.
He hoped that such direct connectivity will help expand trade and commercial activities between the two countries in the foreseeable future.
Secretary to the President’s office M Safiul Alam, Foreign Secretary Mijarul Quayes, Military Secretary to the President Maj Gen Abul Kamal Md Humayun Kabir and PM’s Press Secretary AKM Nesar Uddin Bhuiyan were present during the meeting.
Earlier, the Ambassador was given a guard of honor by a contingent of the President Guard Regiment at the Bangbahban premises.
